Women’s Prize for Fiction × Good Housekeeping Futures

The Women’s Prize for Fiction and Good Housekeeping are delighted to launch Futures, a new initiative celebrating the leading voices of fiction tomorrow today, marking Good Housekeeping’s hundredth anniversary in 2022.

Nominations for Futures are now closed. We invited established publishers and invited literary organisations to nominate women authors of fiction aged 35 and under, residing in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. Authors must have published at least one full-length work of fiction in the UK or ROI by 31st December 2021 to be eligible. The Futures judging panel will be looking for excellence, originality, ambition and promise.

The Women’s Prize for Fiction team will compile a confidential list of 20 authors from the nominations received. A panel of five judges, including Women’s Prize for Fiction Founder-Director Kate Mosse and members of the Good Housekeeping team, will then decide a final list of 10 women authors: the Futures 10. These future stars of fiction will be given an unrivalled promotional platform, with an editorial package including a full-page interview and photoshoot in the magazine, online content, virtual events, social media support and retail promotion.

A public vote will run throughout 2022 for readers to select an overall winner from the Futures 10, crowning the Women’s Prize for Fiction × Good Housekeeping Futures Winner in the December 2022 issue of Good Housekeeping magazine.
