Join us for a full day of live events!

For the first time ever, we’re opening up Bedford Square Garden, the stunning central London garden in which the awards party will take place, to the public. You are invited to join us for three very special events, including the Women’s Prize Shortlist Readings with our 2021 Chair of Judges Bernardine Evaristo, on Tuesday 7th September, the day before of our announcement of the 2021 winner.

At 1pm, we will kick off with the first ever live recording of the Women’s Prize Podcast. We will be recording a ‘Bookshelfie’ episode with award-winning author and 2021 Chair of Judges Bernardine Evaristo, discussing her five favourite books by women and how they’ve influenced her life and career, followed by Bernardine signing copies of her books.

From 3-5pm our Founder-Director and bestselling author Kate Mosse and Maggie O’Farrell are pairing up to share their writing advice and secrets in a creative writing workshop. They will then discuss how they started writing, their journey to publication and beyond, then lead participants through some interactive writing exercises using the Women’s Prize Writing Journal, included in your ticket (and collected on arrival). The session will close with a Q&A, providing you with the opportunity to pose your questions to two outstanding writers.

And from 7pm – the main event – don’t miss our annual Women’s Prize Shortlist Readings, hosted by 2021 Chair of Judges Bernardine Evaristo. Featuring readings from our 2021 shortlisted books, with conversation with their authors, followed by a book signing. Ticketholders will receive a free Baileys Mini*.

Our partner Waterstones will run a pop-up bookshop where you can buy all of this year’s books. For the first time ever, our brand new Women’s Prize Trust merchandise will be on sale from our on-site shop, plus drinks will be served all day and into the evening from our pop-up bar.

Please consider adding a donation to your ticket. This will help us, the Women’s Prize Trust, to continue our important work empowering all women to raise their voice and own their story.
